Bill and his wife, Tevis, live in Bourne and are proud parents of two adult children, Kristen and Patrick. Whether he is advocating for affordable health care, protecting our environment, or standing up to the special interests that drive up costs, Bill Keating is dedicated to delivering for Massachusetts families with integrity, independence, and results that matter.
Bill Keating is committed to making life more affordable for working people. He is challenging Trump’s tariffs, which increase prices on everyday goods and harm small businesses, while also advocating for more affordable and accessible healthcare for everyone. Bill understands that families are struggling with the rising cost of living, and he is focused on practical solutions—rather than political games—to lower costs, strengthen our economy, and support working families.
Born and raised in Norwood, Bill learned the value of service from his father, a police officer and veterans agent, as well as from his grandparents, who immigrated from Ireland in search of opportunity. To pay his way through Boston College, where he earned both a B.A. and an MBA, Bill worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He later earned his law degree at night from Suffolk University while serving in the Massachusetts Legislature.
At just 23 years old, Bill was elected to the State House, quickly establishing a reputation as an independent reformer who stood up to political insiders. He advocated for stronger public safety laws, consumer protection, and efforts to clean up Massachusetts’ lakes and rivers. His results-driven leadership propelled him to the State Senate and then to the role of Norfolk District Attorney.
Since being elected to Congress, Bill has consistently worked for the people of Massachusetts’ 9th District, which includes the South Shore, South Coast, Cape Cod, and the Islands. He has helped secure millions in federal investments for the region, focusing on coastal resiliency, public safety, clean energy, and job creation. Additionally, he has fought to protect Social Security and Medicare, defend reproductive rights, and support veterans and military families.
Bill is a leading voice in Congress focused on foreign policy and defense. He serves on both the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, working tirelessly every day to ensure that America remains safe and strong. Bill is currently the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, Energy, and the Environment.
